Dental Implants - Elgin, IL
Dental implants are created by placing a specially coated titanium post into the jawbone under the gum. We can then attach a special retainer and a crown to the implant. The result is a tooth replacement that cannot get a cavity and rarely get gum disease. This makes them more appealing as they last longer, feel more natural, and closely match the capabilities of a natural tooth
At Bender Dental Care, our Elgin, IL team has an exceptionally high level of expertise when it comes to the restoration of dental implants. The restoration process involves the installation or repair of the prosthetic component. The restoration process is as follows:
Before our team restores your implant, we will provide you with a free consultation. During this appointment, we will examine your implant to ensure it has healed properly and discuss your needs and preferences for your prosthetic. Your implant may be restored with a crown or bridge – depending on how many teeth need to be replaced.
Once we have a plan in place for your restoration, we will set an appointment to begin the procedure. The first step during this appointment will be to remove the healing cap placed over your implant and access the implant post.
After gaining access to the post, we will attach an abutment to the implant. The abutment screws into the implant to form a secure bond.
Once your abutment is secured in place, we will take a digital impression of your teeth to design a restoration that fits your abutment. Using our CEREC machine, you can expect the perfect crown to be ready in no time!
In the final step of the process, our team will place your restoration. The restoration sits above the gum line and brings function and aesthetics to your smile – completing the implant procedure.
Dental implants offer numerous advantages over other restorative options. We believe the top benefit it offers patients is its impact on health. Since the implant consists of a post that embeds into the jawbone, it simulates the advantage of a natural tooth root. In addition to serving as a stable foundation for a tooth, a tooth root serves as a healthy stimulant for the jawbone. By using an artificial implant post, the jawbone is enabled to grow stronger and resist deterioration. Other benefits include:
The cost of a full implant procedure varies based on a multitude of different factors; this may include the type of implant chosen, the number of teeth missing, or your need for preliminary treatment. While it’s not possible for us to provide a true estimate of the expense due to these factors, you may be able to receive more information about the cost of your restoration during a consultation with our doctors.
Dental implants are truly a marvel of modern dentistry, coming as close as possible to truly replacing a natural tooth. With numerous benefits offered by this procedure, it’s hard to say that there could be anything better; however, implants aren’t the right choice for everyone. Are they right for you?
